Some helpful tips to ensure you get the right parking at the airport

For so many travelers, an air journey frequently starts with an automobile journey to the flight terminal. So whether you are going away for a few days or a month, locating secure flight terminal parking for your car will afford you valuable assurance. To help you with the minefield of car parking at flight terminals, here are some ideas to consider.

The first option is to use the auto parking that is readily available at the flight terminal. In other words, don’t put your bets on-street parking. You need to take advantage of the few appropriately managed airport parking lots near at your airport to ensure your car and valuables remain safe.  So you need to ensure the parking lot you choose is frequently patrolled by security agents and safe from other dangers like falling trees etc. If there is no security arrangement at the parking then try and look at other options.

The other thing you should look at is if the car-parking location well lit and safe for pedestrians? This is important because if the parking area is well-kept and well organized it most likely implies that thought has actually been put into providing secure protection too.  But the distance between the parking and terminal is also pretty critical. Some airport parking lots include a long shuttle journey.  If this is the case, you need to see to it that you able to use it, bearing in mind your situation.  If you have walking troubles or have to use a wheelchair then you might find it cumbersome using the shuttle if it is not specialized   to accommodate you.

The parking lot you opt for may require you to walk in the rainfall with your travel luggage. This might be tricky if you are traveling during the rainy season. That's why, when preparing you flight terminal parking arrangements, you should think about how far the terminal is from the parking lot.

You also need to consider the costs too. Typically, the nearer to the terminal you park, the more you are likely to pay.  One critical point that might save you a lot of trouble is to pre-book your airport vehicle parking well in advance. This assures you of a parking space and a lot of savings. But while at it, don't forget to make a note of any specifics you'll require when you arrive. This is one thing that I learnt from the park and fly Auckland service that I saw at Auckland’s airport.  The airport park and ride service there allows one to pre-book, pre-select and even prepay for the parking of their choice.

The last option you can consider is parking at a hotel near the airport.   There are many hotels that are located near airports that offer protected onsite automobile parking while one is away? Some airport hotels offer parking and a friendly evening's rest, a leisurely morning meal etc. Some hotels even go to the extent of offering complimentary flight terminal transfers to the terminal. If you follow these tips, you will travel comfortably knowing that your car is safe and ready for you when you get back.
